We present a method for a mutational screen of the mouse X chromosome using gene trap technologies. This method has the potential to screen all of the genes on the X chromosome without establishing mutant animals, as all gene-trapped embryonic stem (ES) cell lines are hemizygous null for mutations on the X chromosome. Based on this method, embryonic morphological phenotypes and expression patterns for 58 genes were assessed, approximately 10 KW - Acyltransferases KW - Animals KW - Base Sequence KW - Chromosomes, Human, X: genetics KW - DNA Mutational Analysis: methods KW - Genes, Lethal KW - Genes, X-Linked KW - Genetic Diseases, X-Linked: genetics KW - Genetic Predisposition to Disease KW - Genetic Testing: methods KW - Humans KW - Membrane Proteins: genetics KW - Mental Retardation, X-Linked: genetics KW - Mice KW - Molecular Sequence Annotation KW - Molecular Sequence Data KW - Phenotype KW - Proto-Oncogene Proteins: genetics KW - Repressor Proteins: genetics KW - X Chromosome: genetics KW - BCOR protein, human (NLM Chemicals) KW - Membrane Proteins (NLM Chemicals) KW - Proto-Oncogene Proteins (NLM Chemicals) KW - Repressor Proteins (NLM Chemicals) KW - Acyltransferases (NLM Chemicals) KW - PORCN protein, human (NLM Chemicals) LB - PUB:(DE-HGF)16 C6 - pmid:20548051 C2 - pmc:PMC2909578 DO - DOI:10.1101/gr.105106.110 UR - https://pub.dzne.de/record/136084 ER -
