Abstract: Transcranial B-Mode sonography (TCS) allows quick, reliable, and inexpensive depiction of a number of brain structures, which may help in the diagnosis and differentiation of various movement disorders. In the following sections the anatomical structures in three standardized TCS planes (Section I) and the methods of measurement and typical pathological findings in specific structures (Section II) will be described. For better orientation, TCS images are complemented by compatible MRI images.
