In its isolated form (iRBD) it is widely recognised as an early stage of alpha-synucleinopathies. Early identification of patients with iRBD allows for timely interventions, risk mitigation and potential inclusion in clinical trials aimed at disease modification. Effective screening tools, including questionnaires, automatic analyses of video-polysomnography, actigraphy, nearables and biological markers, can facilitate diagnosis and monitoring. Incorporating routine screening into clinical practice may enhance early detection and improve long-term patient outcomes. This manuscript presents the latest developments in screening tools for the identification of patients with iRBD and discusses their advantages and drawbacks, highlighting paths for future research and applications. 000281355 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-353$$a353 - Clinical and Health Care Research (POF4-353)$$cPOF4-353$$fPOF IV$$x0 000281355 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef, PubMed, , Journals: pub.dzne.de 000281355 650_7 $$2Other$$aRBD 000281355 650_7 $$2Other$$aiRBD 000281355 650_7 $$2Other$$aprodromal alpha‐synucleinopathy 000281355 650_7 $$2Other$$ascreening tool 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aHumans 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aREM Sleep Behavior Disorder: diagnosis 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aPolysomnography 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aActigraphy 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aSurveys and Questionnaires 000281355 650_2 $$2MeSH$$aMass Screening: methods 000281355 7001_ $$aBrink-Kjaer, Andreas$$b1 000281355 7001_ $$aDuring, Emmanuel$$b2 000281355 7001_ $$00000-0002-6029-2450$$aGanglberger, Wolfgang$$b3 000281355 7001_ $$aGnarra, Oriella$$b4 000281355 7001_ $$aHuang, Bei$$b5 000281355 7001_ $$0P:(DE-2719)9003277$$aSommerauer, Michael$$b6$$udzne 000281355 7001_ $$aRatti, Pietro Luca$$b7 000281355 7001_ $$00000-0002-9420-4922$$aRechichi, Irene$$b8 000281355 7001_ $$00000-0002-5745-5474$$aWing, Yun Kwok$$b9 000281355 7001_ $$00000-0003-4259-8824$$aStefani, Ambra$$b10 000281355 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)2007459-1$$a10.1111/jsr.70109$$gVol. 34, no. 5, p. e70109$$n5$$pe70109$$tJournal of sleep research$$v34$$x0962-1105$$y2025 000281355 8564_ $$uhttps://pub.dzne.de/record/281355/files/DZNE-2025-01102.pdf$$yOpenAccess 000281355 8564_ $$uhttps://pub.dzne.de/record/281355/files/DZNE-2025-01102.pdf?subformat=pdfa$$xpdfa$$yOpenAccess 000281355 909CO $$ooai:pub.dzne.de:281355$$popenaire$$popen_access$$pVDB$$pdriver$$pdnbdelivery 000281355 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588)1065079516$$6P:(DE-2719)9003277$$aDeutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen$$b6$$kDZNE 000281355 9131_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-353$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF4-350$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF4-300$$3G:(DE-HGF)POF4$$4G:(DE-HGF)POF$$aDE-HGF$$bGesundheit$$lNeurodegenerative Diseases$$vClinical and Health Care Research$$x0 000281355 9141_ $$y2025 000281355 915__ $$0LIC:(DE-HGF)CCBY3$$2HGFVOC$$aCreative Commons Attribution CC BY 3.0 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0200$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bSCOPUS$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0160$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bEssential Science Indicators$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1050$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBIOSIS Previews$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1190$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBiological Abstracts$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0600$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bEbsco Academic Search$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0100$$2StatID$$aJCR$$bJ SLEEP RES : 2022$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)3001$$2StatID$$aDEAL Wiley$$d2024-12-09$$wger 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1030$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bCurrent Contents - Life Sciences$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0113$$2StatID$$aWoS$$bScience Citation Index Expanded$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0150$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bWeb of Science Core Collection$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)9900$$2StatID$$aIF < 5$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0510$$2StatID$$aOpenAccess 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0030$$2StatID$$aPeer Review$$bASC$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0300$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bMedline$$d2024-12-09 000281355 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0199$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bClarivate Analytics Master Journal List$$d2024-12-09 000281355 9201_ $$0I:(DE-2719)1013020$$kAG Petzold$$lVascular Neurology$$x0 000281355 980__ $$ajournal 000281355 980__ $$aVDB 000281355 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED 000281355 980__ $$aI:(DE-2719)1013020 000281355 9801_ $$aFullTexts
